Baby Mya is Here!

On Monday morning I had a doctor appointment and I was "looking like I'd go into labor soon". My mom booked a flight for the next morning, and sure enough- I started into labor on Monday afternoon. We went into the hospital around 6:30 pm and Mya was born Tuesday morning at 2:42 am!
The labor was a lot easier this time around, except that I waited too long to ask for my epidural and it didn't come til I was a 9. (I'll never make that mistake again! Ha ha!) But all in all, it was pretty smooth.
Holding Mya for the very first time! So sweet!
Bryn and my Mom came later that morning to meet her and it was really cute to see Bryn's reaction.
After three and a half years of being the only child, I'm sure it's going to be an adjustment for Brynlee to share the spotlight. But so far it's been okay and Bryn's been sweet.

Mom with her two grandchildren
I am so, so grateful my Mom is here to help with everything and to cuddle little Mya.
Mya was 8 lbs, 3 oz and 20 inches long. So she's shorter and chubbier than Bryn....and we are LOVING the rolls and chubby cheeks!
We are so completely filled with gratitude for this sweet little girl. It was a long road getting here with the miscarriages and all the shots and pills with this pregnancy, but all of that immediately faded into nothing as soon as she was born. She's a little miracle girl and we are so happy to have her in our home!

Magnet Boards

I made little magnet boards for all my young women when I got released as YW president. I got the metal boards at a shop in Utah, then just added the ribbon so they could hang. Each board had a picture of a young women activity, a picture of the Newport Beach Temple, a quote from Elaine Dalton, and a personal note. It was fun to make something for the girls, but sad to think that it was a "goodbye gift"!

Oh man, I am going to miss these girls like crazy!

Young Women

Oh brother, today was such an emotional day....especially for an already-emotional pregnant lady!...because I was released as being the Young Women President in my ward. I was so excited to be called into the Young Women program in 2010, and it was just as amazing as I had hoped. I am so grateful for the time I had to serve these awesome girls and to learn and grow so very, very much!

Beach Day

We got our Saturday jobs done early this morning and then headed to the beach for a couple hours.
 39 Weeks!

Bryn and I walk to the beach a few times a week to watch the surfers and so Bryn was so excited to "surf" on Josh's boogie board. Josh helped her ride the little waves in.
Oops! Luckily Bryn thought this spill was funny...I thought she was going to come up scared!

We've been trying to spend as much time at the beach as we can since we've only got 6-7 weeks til we move to New Hampshire.
I'll miss these beautiful, relaxing beach days!

Pillowcases for Camp

My young women are heading to girls camp in a few days and I'm so sad I won't be up there with them!
(I thought it probably wouldn't be a good idea to go into labor out in the woods -- I don't think their first aid certification covered "labor and delivery").
I made some simple pillow-cases for the girls to use at camp. We only have five girls from our ward going to camp this year, so hopefully the bright pillowcases will make them stand out among the other girls in their cabins! My camping "skills" are pretty minimal, but sewing camp pillowcases is one thing I can do!
Girls Camp last summer....such a fun week!

Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day today! Bryn worked hard on a little card for Josh.
Of course, my favorite part was her drawing of she and Josh. I love her drawings lately! Oh man, they crack me up.
I am so grateful for Josh...such a wonderful father to Brynlee! I am excited for him to become a father of two soon, and this new baby-to-be is a lucky little girl to have Josh as her dad!
And of course, I am so grateful for my amazing Dad! I wish I could be with him today!
(I guess I need a current picture of my Dad because this is the best I could find and it's a year and a half old! And we're missing my brother LOGAN! .....and my mom.....and Josh and Bryn!)
I LOVE YOU, DAD!

Beach Night

Today was such a beautiful day! I wish we could have spent the whole day at the beach, but at least we fit in a couple hours tonight.
Bryn and Josh love flying their gecko kite any chance they can get and the beach is one of their favorite spots to do it. (I love that they share this little hobby!)
Cheesy Bryn holding on to the kite string
This is Bryn's response to "Smile for a picture, Bryn!" ...Faking dead.
Josh was doing the same thing to me, but we just didn't get a picture of it :)
 I love this girl!
The pier is always full of random musicians. Some are better than others, but we like these guys on the drums!
Certainly not a flattering picture of myself (...is there such thing as a flattering picture at 38 weeks pregnant?), but Bryn was so cute dancing to the drums! She was shaking her little hips and loving every minute of it.
Why do we ever spend Friday nights at home when we live a mile from this place??
Fun night!
